When creating a profile, a random avatar image is automatically assigned, which cannot be changed and is also used by others. Users can voluntarily upload their own profile picture (max. 10 MB, JPG/PNG), which can then only be changed but not deleted. Uploading is done in the web version via "Your Profile" and in the apps via "View Profile." Having your own picture promotes trust and better interaction.
As a profile picture, an avatar image is automatically inserted by the system when creating the profile. It is not possible to change this avatar image, and it may be that another neighbor has the same avatar image.
The avatar is assigned randomly; the information you entered in your profile is not taken into account.
Of course, you are free to decide whether to upload a picture or not. Our experience has shown that interaction and getting to know each other work significantly better with a profile picture. A picture added to a name also inspires more trust.
Once you have successfully uploaded a profile picture, it is only possible to change the picture, but not to delete it anymore.
Keep in mind: The image size can be a maximum of 10 MB and should be in JPG or PNG format.
How do I upload the picture?
First, choose your device:
For the web version:
Click on the avatar image, your existing profile picture, at the top right next to your name and select "Your Profile." Under the placeholder for the profile picture, you can upload your profile picture by clicking "Add Picture." Or you can simply click on the placeholder itself – that works too.
For our apps:
Tap the three lines at the bottom right of the screen, then tap "View Profile" at the top. Under the placeholder for the profile picture, you can upload your profile picture by clicking "Change Picture" or "Add Picture" for the iOS app.
