As a group moderator, you can edit the group, manage members, and handle membership requests for closed groups. By clicking the three dots next to “Show details” or “More,” you access options such as removing members, appointing moderators, changing the title and description, and inviting neighbors. For closed groups, you will receive notifications about new membership requests, which you can accept or decline.
As a group moderator, you can freely edit the group. You can also manage the members and, for closed groups, the membership requests.
To do this, click on the 3 gray dots in your group, next to “Show details” in the web version, or in the apps on “More” and the 3 dots next to the group title. A menu with various options will then appear.
Under “Manage members” you will see a list of the group members. There are two options to proceed. You can remove people from the group or appoint them as moderators. Click on the 3 gray dots to the right of the person’s name and choose an action.
Note: Removing a person from the group does not mean they cannot join again. For open groups, the person can rejoin at any time. For closed groups, the person can submit a membership request.
Under “Edit” you can change the group’s title and description.
With “Invite” you can invite neighbors directly to your group.
To draw attention to your group, you can write a post to your neighbors. Use the “Create link” function and insert the link into your post’s text.
If you are a moderator of a closed group, you can manage the “Membership requests.” You will receive a notification when there are new requests. You can then accept or decline them.
Note: On nebenan.de, you always see the current status of requests. If you do not see a person’s request on nebenan.de, it may be that they changed their mind and withdrew the request. We only send notifications for new requests. You will not receive a notification for withdrawn requests.
