Climate change is man-made and requires both local and global action. Nebenan.de promotes respectful exchange and allows posts about community climate and environmental protection, such as litter collection campaigns or sustainable use of resources. Climate change denial and partisan political content are prohibited. Content from organizations focused on the common good should be published via organizational profiles.
Climate change is a reality. We at nebenan.de align ourselves with the scientific consensus that climate change is a man-made global problem that concerns us all and requires our action—both on a global level and locally in our neighborhoods.
The founders of nebenan.de joined the initiative "Leaders for Climate Action" back in 2019 and demanded consistent and swift political action for effective climate protection (more about this here).
Climate protection is also a topic that stirs strong emotions on nebenan.de and leads to discussions that are not constructive, escalate quickly, and thus do not align with our netiquette.
Nebenan.de is meant to remain a place for respectful neighborhood exchange. Therefore, we want to be transparent here about which content on this topic is permitted on nebenan.de within the framework of our guidelines and values:
Permitted are:
- Posts where neighbors on nebenan.de come together to engage in more climate and environmental protection in their neighborhood.
- For example, joint litter collection campaigns, creating community gardens, jointly sustainable use of resources such as cargo bikes, etc.
- Posts in which neighbors exchange ideas and tips on how they can get involved in climate protection in their neighborhood.
-
Posts where neighbors invite others to joint climate protection activities, e.g., preparatory meetings for approved demonstrations, joint
transparent painting, etc. - General calls for approved climate demonstrations.
We do not tolerate:
- Posts that deny climate change and its current impacts.
- Posts/events partly about climate change from political parties.
- Furthermore, our general posting and commenting guidelines apply.
Important: If you belong to a common-good-oriented organization (e.g., association) or a neighborhood initiative / official alliance, please do not publish your content via a private profile, but rather via the special organizational profile.
