An active neighborhood on nebenan.de is launched when more than 100 people are registered, the boundaries are set, and all features are available. Currently, neighborhoods are not being launched because the process is being revised to allow more people, including those in rural areas, to gain access. Users will be informed as soon as their neighborhood is launched. To promote growth, neighbors can be invited and local organizations involved.
An active neighborhood on nebenan.de is officially launched. This means:
- there are more than 100 people who want to connect in this neighborhood via nebenan.de and have already registered.
- the neighborhood boundaries are fixed and can no longer be changed.
- all features are fully available to the members.
A closed or not yet launched neighborhood has not been officially launched yet.
Until now, we have activated neighborhoods upon request once 100 people had registered.
We are currently revising this process to create opportunities for even more people to use nebenan.de – especially in rural or less densely populated regions.
To ensure these changes run smoothly, we temporarily cannot launch any neighborhoods. (As of April 2025)
You can be sure that we will launch your neighborhood soon. As soon as this happens, we will inform you, provided you have already successfully registered.
