If you move and your new neighborhood is already launched, you can change your address yourself in your profile without having to verify it again. However, content and group memberships from the old neighborhood will not be transferred and will be deleted; private messages will remain. Staying in the old neighborhood is not possible. The change can be made via settings on the web or in the app; if the old neighborhood is inactive, support will handle the change for you.
If you have moved and your neighborhood is already launched, you can easily change your address yourself in your profile.
You do not need to verify your new address again.
Please note: If your new residence is outside your current neighborhood, the content from your existing neighborhood cannot be transferred to the new neighborhood. The posts and comments you created, as well as group memberships, will be deleted.
Private conversations in your inbox with your current neighbors will not be deleted.
Still, it’s best to exchange alternative contact options with neighbors you want to stay in touch with.
Note: The number of moves is limited within a certain period for security reasons.
If you also want to change your name, this is only possible if the change can be documented.
Can I stay in my old neighborhood even though I now live in a different neighborhood?
Unfortunately not. A neighborhood consists of the people who live in it. When you move, you have the opportunity to get involved in your new neighborhood and get to know your new neighbors.
Here we show you step by step how to change your address. Select your device:
Web version:
Click your name at the top right, then on “Your settings” and “Your user account.” There you will find the section “Edit personal data.” Click on it and enter your password. Then you can change your address.
Tip: If you don’t see these menu items, your old neighborhood was not yet active. In this case, we will be happy to change the address in your profile for you.
For the Android app:
Tap the 3 lines at the bottom right of the screen and then the gear icon at the top right, then tap “Your user account.”
Tap the pencil icon at the top right and enter your password to change your address.
Tip: If you don’t see these menu items, your old neighborhood was not yet active. In this case, we will be happy to change the address in your profile for you.
For the iOS app:
Tap the 3 lines at the bottom right of the screen and then the gear icon at the top right, then tap “Your user account.”
