The "public posts" feature on nebenan.de allows sharing content with people outside your own neighborhood, even without registration. Public posts are only visible within your own and adjacent neighborhoods but can be viewed by non-members via a link. Privacy protections safeguard private user information. Information on how to identify public posts can be found in the web version and apps under "Post information."
For example, to reach people outside your neighborhood, the author can mark a post as a "Public Post."
Web Version App
The "public posts" feature enables sharing content on nebenan.de with people beyond your immediate circle, regardless of whether they are registered.
This means posts are also visible to users not logged in if they open the post link in a browser.
Example: You can share a link to a public event in your neighborhood, even with non-members.
Note: Public posts are only visible on the homepage/marketplace within your own and neighboring neighborhoods. Users from more distant areas do not receive email notifications. They can only access the post via the provided link.
Only public events can be listed in the newsletter. For more information, see the article: What is a public event?
If you create a public post in the "Altstadt" neighborhood in Cologne, for example, it will not appear on the homepage of a more distant neighborhood in Cologne or beyond.
Privacy Notice: Users not logged in see only the content and the neighborhood name for public posts. Names, profile pictures, and responses from other neighbors remain private and are not visible to outsiders. This is how we protect your privacy.
